Home Made Hazelnut Butter
Nut butters are a great source of healthy fats. Nuts can help maintain a good level of fat burning hormones as well as control appetite and cravings. Try this cheaper recipe for a clean nut butter (no added preserves, sugar, flavors or enhancers).
- 2 cups raw hazelnuts
- Cook hazelnuts at 170 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes until skin begins to crack and hazelnuts look slightly golden.
- Remove skin once hazel nuts are cooked.
- Using a soup blender, blend the hazelnuts into butter. The hazelnuts will first break down into smaller pieces and then into powder. Use a tablecloth to cover the blender and avoid wasting any flying bits.
- Continue blending until oil starts coming out of the hazelnuts and eventually butter starts forming. Scrape the sides of your bowl and blend until a fine gritty butter is formed.
